Possible Future Baby Names

My husband and I aren’t planning on having kids for a few more years, but, I like to think ahead. Here’s our current list of names we like, in Alphabetical order. Not every name has first AND middle names, and some I already have nicknames for. Tell me your favorites and the ones you hate!

Girls:

1. Amber Faithlynn Day: She’d go by Faithlynn, but I’d probably call her Faithy, and I’m not totally sure about the Amber part, because it’s not my favorite names in the world, but I do love the color.

2. Arabella ? Day

3. Arianna ? Day: Comes from the Welsh word “Arian”, meaning “Silver”. Plus, it was Dumbledore’s little sister’s name and I’m an HP nerd. It’s also just pretty though.

4. Aurora ? Day: Latin for “Dawn”. We’d probably call her Rory most of the time.

5. Hanalei ? Day: Hanalei is a town in Hawaii, and also means “Lei Making” in Hawaiian. Mostly I just think it sounds beautiful.

6. Hyla-Brook Day: This has been one of our mutual favorites so far. “Hyla-Brook” is the title of a Robert Frost poem, who just happens to be my favorite poet. I’m not sure about the hyphen. I think we’d just make it Hyla Brook, and that’s what we’d call her as well, instead of just Hyla

7. Jazzalyn ? Day: Jazzy, for short. The more I think about it, the more I picture this being the name of a fluffy black dog. I thought it was worth mentioning though! I think it’s a nice break from the traditional Jasmine

8. Lightlie ? Day: We have this on-going joke, that if we had twins, a girl/boy set, we’d name them Lightlie, and Brighten, since our last name is Day. I think Lightlie is super pretty, and it’s a nice change from the usual Sunny, Sunshine, Stormy, Windy, etc.

9. Primrose ? Day: I’ll admit, reading the Hunger Games trilogy has opened my mind up much more to the world around me whilst choosing names for our children. We’d probably call her Rose or Prim.

10. Revakah ? Day: Like REV-a-kah. I adore this, because it’s an awesome change from the incredibly boring Rebecca. It’s also Hebrew, for “Captivating”.

11. Rosellina ? Day: Italian, for “little rose”. I just love anything to do with roses, and/or red roses/the color red, because it’s my favorite color. I’d use the name Scarlett, but we have a chiweenie named Scarlett

12. Svana Grace Day: My husband would never go for “Svana”, and I think Savannah is too boring. Svana is German, for “Swan”.

Boys:

1. Axel ? Day: If this isn’t a badass name, I don’t what is. This kid would be rockin’ mohawks and Chucks erryday o’ the week.

2. Benjamin Joel Day: I’ve had this one in mind for years, actually. It’s not quite as authentic as I want though.. and there’s the dreaded “BJ” nickname.. ugh. My husband doesn’t like this anyways. If we did have a son with this name for some reason, we’d call him Joel

3. Brighten ? Day: We’ve already discussed this, but don’t worry, this isn’t in our top 3.

4. Hendrix ? Day: Hendrix could easily be a first OR a middle name for me, it just depends on what we chose to go along with it. Either way, he’d probably go by Hendrix.

5. Lennon ? Day: ^see description above.

6. Liam Ryker Day: He’d definitely be going by Ryker, which sounds amazing, and it’s Danish, for “Strength”.

7. Marley ? Day: Once again, see description for Hendrix

8. Ryan Ace Day: My husband loves this. I don’t love the Ryan part. I’m okay with Ace, but I easily prefer Axel.
